Gallizo, always one step ahead.
1949. The company is founded
The company Gallizo was founded in 1949, and was initially dedicated to the activity of warehousing for construction products.
1955. Manufacture of prefabricated concrete
In 1955, the manufacture of prefabricated concrete began, with the aim of broadening the range of products on sale. Little by little the range of products grew, through the addition of new categories and an increase in capacities in order to cover any manufacturing possibility, from the simplest (development, pavements, enclosures) to the most complex (large structures).
1994. Manufacture of industrial counterweights
The crisis of 1993 signified a huge setback for the Spanish economy. Unemployment rose from 16% to 24%, profits and business investment fell dramatically, the public debt shot up to 30 trillion pesetas. The crisis was protracted, from 1991 (the first symptoms) to 1997. The national currency was devalued three times in less that 9 months (5%, 6% and 8% respectively).
Within this difficult context, Gallizo focussed its efforts on the launch of a new line of business, the manufacture of counterweights for industrial use. With perseverance and determination, the trust of one of the main industrial companies using this type of product was earned. This excellent milestone established the culture of the company, stamping on it an obsession for a job well done and continuous improvement (during this period the ISO 9001 certification for quality and the ISO 14001 certification for environmental management were obtained) and innovation (the ISO 166002 certification in R+D+i management was obtained).
2007. Manufacture of counterweights for elevation, also in steel
Thanks to the vast experience gained in the processes of the design and manufacture of counterweights, the company, in 2007, began to produce counterweights for elevation. A little later, in 2010, capabilities for the production of steel counterweights were expanded, with the addition of oxy-fuel cutting, welding and machining.
2011. Environmental prefabrications
In parallel to the manufacture of counterweights for industrial use, Gallizo has continued to innovate in other fields. Specifically, in 2011, it launched its Ran-2® modular system, an innovative design with significant advantages for the manufacture and installation of recycling points. This project was the result of a research project in collaboration with the University of Zaragoza, public companies, waste managers, and other involved parties.
2012. Internationalisation of the company
We could say that the internationalisation of our company was the next logical step in our efforts to provide each market with the most competitive solution possible. Our high degree of specialisation in industrial counterweights, together with our design, innovation and manufacturing capacities, and our obsession for quality, makes us a competitive, trusted supplier of huge industrial brands in a variety of sectors.
2015. Counterweights for heavy machinery
We remain committed to expanding and applying our knowledge of the manufacture of counterweights for industrial use within new markets, and to developing our capabilities along these lines. In 2015, the manufacture of counterweights for heavy machinery began.
2017. Our factory in Poland opens
It is one of the most recent milestones in our history. Our modern factory in Poland will allow us to address the growing demand for our manufacturing services in Europe, and provides us with yet one more degree of competitiveness when satisfying the needs of our Customers, wherever they are located.
